Requirements

  • Demonstrates competency and proficiency in all skills required to perform level I routine and level II advanced ultrasound procedures as defined by department protocols.
  • Utilizes independent judgment and required knowledge to obtain high quality diagnostic ultrasound images.
  • Competently evaluates the technical quality of the images obtained and prior to submitting to interpreting radiologist.
  • Educates the patient/family about the procedure and report all changes in patient’s status, including initiating emergency response if required.
  • Accurately documents patient information in the appropriate hospital systems.
  • Acts as a resource to less experience technologists in the department.
  • Hospital based positions may require call responsibility and rotation to hospital adjacent imaging center locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • On-call employees are required to respond to call within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problem, provide services off-site as needed and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called to respond.
