The Fulltime Registered Vascular Technologist provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures according to established policy and procedure. This role requires independent judgment and systematic problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care. The technologist will perform all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. They will also assist the Lead Technologist and Practice Manager with the daily operations of the vascular laboratory and training staff as needed. Maintaining a high standard of medical ethics and self-motivation to increase competence are essential. The technologist uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images and coordinates their work schedule with the manager to assure workload coverage. Consultation with the ordering physician, patient chart, and/or lead technologist regarding patients’ history is necessary to determine appropriate lab procedures.
