About The Position

The Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic, non-invasive vascular examinations on patients using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment. The role maintains accreditation and regulatory compliance for the Vascular department and ensures pertinent patient and procedural data are accurate, high-quality, and confidential. The technologist handles patient documentation, procedure preparation, and instructions, and demonstrates knowledge of vascular anatomy, examination procedures, and interpretation criteria. On-call availability is required.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography, or another related study.
• Credential in vascular technology from a recognized organization is required within one year of hire. Listed credentials include Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVT), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Vascular Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required prior to direct patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Vascular technology credential (RVT, ARDMS, or ARRT) at the time of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• One year of experience as a vascular technologist.
• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS).

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, non-invasive vascular examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
• Maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance of the Vascular department.
• Confirm the quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of pertinent patient and procedural data.
• Manage patient documentation, procedure preparation, and instructions.
• Apply knowledge of vascular anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation criteria.
• Participate in on-call coverage.
