About The Position

The Columbia VA Health Care System is seeking a Vascular Surgeon to provide comprehensive physician care, including clinical and surgical services. This role involves managing complex cases, performing secondary closure of surgical wounds, conducting office/outpatient consultations, and providing post-operative and interoperative follow-up. The position also includes communicating test results, attending quality improvement and staff meetings, supervising and teaching residents, and managing admissions and inpatient care. The Columbia VA serves Veterans across South Carolina through its main medical center and seven community-based outpatient clinics.

Requirements

• Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Board certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgeons.
• BLS, ACLS certified.
• Must go through a security pre-screen process.
• Must have clean credit.

Responsibilities

• Provide Vascular Surgery Physician care, including clinical and surgical care.
• Perform operative services such as complex drainage and secondary closure of surgical wounds.
• Conduct office/outpatient visits and consultations for problem severity.
• Provide post-operative and interoperative follow-up.
• Communicate test results to providers and patients.
• Attend QI meetings and staff meetings.
• Supervise and teach residents.
• Manage admissions and inpatient care.
