About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Vascular Surgeons in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. The role applies vascular expertise to chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, including arterial, venous, and diabetic ulcers, in skilled nursing and post-acute settings. No previous wound care experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided. The position includes surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures, use of advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols, and following patients through healing in collaboration with care teams. It offers clinical autonomy and a weekday schedule without nights, weekends, or call. Part-time schedules are 2–3 days per week, while full-time schedules are 4–5 days per week. Compensation for full-time work is listed as $250,000–$500,000 annually, with per-patient and per-procedure pay and quarterly bonus programs. The position is described as an independent contractor role with no earning cap.

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
Complete confidential pre-employment DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing.

Responsibilities

Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, including arterial, venous, and diabetic ulcers.
Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.
