About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a physician to join the division of vascular neurology at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. The ideal candidate will also be part of the stroke service line and Atlantic Medical Group. This role involves both home/local hospital duties and system-wide stroke duties. Vascular neurologists are expected to participate in the acute stroke team (code strokes via in-person and/or telemedicine) and the vascular neurology consult service team for inpatient vascular consults. While the stroke service is currently consultations only, it may include a primary stroke service in the future. Outpatient clinic duties may also be part of the role. The position requires close collaboration with emergency medicine physicians, neurosurgeons, interventionalists, and neurointensivists, as well as guiding and supervising stroke team members (stroke APNs and PAs). Responsibilities include working with stroke coordinators and managers, reviewing quality data, and ensuring best practice medicine for stroke patients. Morristown Medical Center is the flagship academic medical institution of Atlantic Health and a large quaternary medical center in New Jersey. Clinical academic appointments are available through Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. The position offers excellent compensation and benefits. Requirements

  • Physician
  • Board certified or eligible in Neurology
  • Fellowship trained in Vascular Neurology or Stroke

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with telemedicine for stroke consults
  • Experience in an academic medical center setting

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the acute stroke team (i.e., code strokes: either in-person and/or via telemedicine)
  • Be part of the vascular neurology consult service team (for all non-emergent vascular consults for all inpatient vascular consults)
  • May include outpatient clinic duties
  • Work closely with emergency medicine physicians, neurosurgeons, interventionalists, and neurointensivists
  • Guide and supervise stroke team members which include stroke APNs and PAs
  • Work collaboratively with the stroke coordinators and managers
