About The Position
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the varsity sport announcer may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions. These functions are of moderate complexity and the sport official performs them using established instructions. Varsity Sport Announcers will be responsible to work both conference and exhibition games as well as any tournaments and playoffs.
Requirements
- Sport specific knowledge is required
- Must be able to work evenings (Wed-Sat) and weekends (Sat-Sun)
- Must be punctual, organized, reliable and have the ability to multitask
- Bilingualism is required - at a proficient level; script will be provided
- High School Diploma
- 1 Year Related Experience
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Willing to work in the province of Quebec
- English communication both verbally and in writing at a level # 4 on a scale of 0-4
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience is an asset
Responsibilities
- Perform setup and take down of event equipment
- Finalize script for games (teams, officials names, starting line-up, etc)
- Announce advertisements and half-time shows
- Operate Public Address (PA) system and music system during game
