About The Position

The Varsity Soccer Girls Head Coach helps participating students develop a high level of soccer skill, appreciate discipline and sportsmanship, and build self-esteem. The coach plans and schedules practices, works with the athletic director on contests, supports students’ development, and oversees safety and conduct during team activities. Salary and work year are established by the Board.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the sport.
• Professional competence in engaging and supporting students.
• Effective communication with students, school staff, and the community.

Nice To Haves

• Preference is given to individuals currently under teaching contract with the school division.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in soccer.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of in-season practice.
• Work closely with the athletic director to schedule intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommend purchases of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
• Maintain attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Oversee safety conditions in the facility or area where the sport is conducted whenever students are present.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior, and establish and oversee penalties for breaches of standards.
