About The Position

The Varsity Event Crew, reporting to the Facility and Equipment Coordinator, is responsible for the setup and takedown of equipment and maintaining the cleanliness of athletic venues before and after varsity games and event rentals. The mission of this role is to create an environment that inspires a passion for student success. The desired results of the position include timely setup and takedown, and ensuring athletic venues are clean and ready for events.

Requirements

• Enrolled as an Algonquin College Student.
• Physically capable to lift/move heavy sports equipment (30 lbs).
• Ability to stand for two games back to back, approximately 5 hours.
• Available to work all home games on the weekends (afternoon and evening games).

Responsibilities

• Assists with the setup of the athletic venue according to the event.
• Assists with minor maintenance and cleanliness during the games – i.e. water spills, sweeping the floor, etc.
• During volleyball games works the 3-ball system.
• Assists with the takedown and cleaning of the venue and seating areas following home events.
• Other duties as assigned.
