About The Position
Propel Schools is seeking a Varsity Cheerleading Head Coach for the 26-27 season to support Propel Montour High School, Propel Braddock Hills High School, and Propel Andrew Street High School. The season is scheduled to begin in November and conclude in February, with potential for extension due to postseason participation. This role includes a seasonal stipend of $2,000, prorated for coaches starting after the official season begins.
Requirements
- Prior cheerleading experience
- Up-to-date TB Test
- Act 34 Criminal Clearance
- Act 114 FBI Clearance
- Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
- Mandated Reporter Training
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the varsity level
- Understanding of PIAA Competitive Spirit regulations
- Understanding of music copyright laws
- High level of personal organization and planning
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- A commitment to the Propel Habits
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for supporting the Varsity program with the athletic director and other coaching staff
- Implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations
- Attending all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations
- Supporting athletic teams during contests
- Building school morale and school spirit
- Participating in ongoing professional development
