About The Position

The seasonal Varsity Sports Coach leads practices and competitions for the Hawks varsity team in the assigned sport. The Coach teaches sport-specific skills, develops competition strategy, and supports student-athletes in building confidence, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.

The Coach collaborates with the Recreation Department, Greenburgh Eleven UFSD, cottage staff, and families to support student-athletes’ academic success, personal development, and athletic growth.

Requirements

• New York State coaching certification or temporary coaching certificate.
• CPR, First Aid, and DASA certifications.
• Knowledge and experience in the assigned sport, including its rules, scorekeeping, coaching methods, skill development, and competition strategy.
• Ability to teach and motivate youth with varied needs.
• Strong organization and communication skills, sound judgment, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and required recordkeeping systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
• Valid New York State driver’s license.
