About The Position
New Horizons is seeking a Van Driver to transport people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in agency-owned vehicles. The driver safely transports individuals between their homes and facility-based services and assists passengers with boarding and exiting as needed. The role also includes visual pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and responsibility for vehicle cleanliness and general maintenance oversight.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and five years of driving experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Complete required training, including First Aid/CPR certification.
- Drug test required.
- Background report and driving record required.
- TB test required.
- Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport individuals between their homes and facility-based services using agency-owned vehicles.
- Assist passengers as needed when boarding and exiting the vehicle.
- Complete visual pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is functioning properly and safely.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and oversee general vehicle maintenance.
