About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Van Driver to provide transportation for community residents. The role assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities that require van transportation. When on excursions, the Van Driver also acts as an Activity Assistant and stays with the group except while parking the van.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in the elderly and knowledge of servicing their needs.
• Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
• Act as an Activity Assistant during excursions and stay with the group except while parking the van.
• Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
• Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is needed to assure resident safety.
