About The Position

Van Driver - Part-time Position at Laurelwood at The Pinehills. This role involves driving residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events, ensuring their safety and comfort. When not driving, the role includes assisting in creating engaging experiences that cater to residents' physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being, making the community vibrant and lively. The Engagement Team, as the heart of the community, brings purpose and joy, measuring success in the smiles created.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate a car safely and responsibly.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with seniors.
Respectful and patient attitude towards residents.
Physical ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting a vehicle.
Criminal Background Screening is required.
All candidates will be required to show valid proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of commencing work, unless they receive an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers during transit.
Connect with residents personally, understanding what they like and need to make sure activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the van, conducting routine inspections.
Assist in community programs and activities as needed.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.
Report any issues or incidents promptly.
Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive experience for residents.
