Requirements

  • Must be age 25 or older
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage a flexible schedule
  • Professional appearance and dependable attendance
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. and push/move 200+ lbs. (including wheelchairs on ramps)
  • Stand or walk for extended periods
  • May be exposed to bodily fluids and communicable illnesses
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)

Nice To Haves

  • CNA certification and medical transport experience preferred
  • Experience working with elderly residents is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Transport residents safely to and from medical appointments, hospital visits, and other outings
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments; communicate details with residents, families, and staff
  • Arrange alternative transportation as needed and ensure timely follow-up
  • Ensure all required documentation accompanies residents; report updates to nursing upon return
  • Assist residents with loading/unloading and properly secure wheelchairs and equipment
  • Maintain transport vehicle readiness, including cleanliness, fuel, maintenance, and registration
  • Follow all safety protocols, including no cell phone use while operating company vehicles
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks (repairs, inspections, preventive upkeep) and respond to urgent requests
  • Maintain accurate logs for maintenance, safety checks, and compliance (including SDS)
  • Build professional, respectful relationships with residents, staff, vendors, and support emergency preparedness efforts
