About The Position

The Van Driver Lead is responsible for safely transporting employees while supporting and providing leadership to the shuttle team. This role promotes safety, professionalism, accountability, and efficient operations while ensuring any unprofessional behavior, safety concerns, or operational issues are promptly reported to management. Available to work overtime throughout the week as well as weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • Ability to read, write speak/understand instructions based on workorder and supervisor instructions required
  • Comfortable driving shuttle van required

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership and team coordination preferred
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Strong safety awareness preferred
  • Shuttle Transportation experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vans to transport employees throughout the facility and designated locations.
  • Ensure all routes used are within safety standards, if any issues you are to report these hazards immediately to your reporting supervisor and/or manager.
  • Lead and support daily van driver operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate driver assignments, schedules, and transportation routes as directed by management.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and traffic regulations.
  • Monitor driver performance, attendance, professionalism, and adherence to operational expectations.
  • Assist with training drivers on safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintain clear communication with operations management regarding transportation needs and operational updates.
  • Respond quickly to transportation delays, incidents, or operational challenges.
  • Promote a positive, safety-focused, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Report all accidents, unsafe conditions, policy violations, and unprofessional behavior to management.
  • Ensure timely escalation of employee relations (ER) complaints, concerns, and policy violations to Supervisor/Manager upon becoming aware of, observing, or receiving reports of such matters.
  • Ensure drivers follow company policy and procedures
  • Communicate company guidelines and standards to the team members on the van, so they are aware of what should and should not be done
  • Ensure all team members on van are following all company rules, regulations, policies, and safety guidelines, including but not limited to proper dress code.
  • Ensure all team members on van abide by the speed limit at all times, and are not conducting themselves in a manner that can cause damage to the vehicles
  • Report all violations to the supervisor
  • All other duties as required
