The Valves Components Engineer II will work with the Design and Test team to productionize the electro-mechanical mechanism that controls the valve. The role includes creating work instructions, building tooling, evaluating the value stream to reduce hardware time, cost, and nonconformances, and standing up machinery and manufacturing equipment. The engineer owns the product from cradle to grave and incorporates lessons learned into feedback that helps the team improve the product. Relativity Space’s Components team is responsible for fluid control devices across Terran R, from propulsion to stage systems. Engineers own multiple products and work with partner teams such as Propulsion, Avionics, and Stage Fluids to ensure components integrate with the broader vehicle. Design, manufacturing, and test assets are co-located, allowing engineers to observe performance and iterate based on real-world data. The team develops new designs for vehicle and engine upgrades and improves existing designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
