The Components team is responsible for all fluid control devices across Terran R, from propulsion to stage systems, enabling a more integrated and informed design approach. Engineers own every aspect of multiple products and integrate with partner teams such as Propulsion, Avionics, and Stage Fluids to ensure their components function seamlessly within the scope of the broader vehicle. With design, manufacturing, and test assets co-located, you’ll see firsthand how your designs perform and can iterate quickly based on real world data. The team is continuously advancing its products, including developing novel clean-sheet designs for upcoming vehicle and engine upgrades, while creatively improving existing designs to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Requirements
- Understanding of engineering principles
- Worked with various seals and installation procedures
- Has experience with Cryo and ambient testing
- Has experience working with technicians and making work instructions
Responsibilities
- Work with Design and Test team to productionize valve
- Create work instructions, build tooling, and evaluate value stream to reduce time, cost, and nonconformances of hardware
- Stand up machinery/manufacturing equipment
- Own product from cradle to grave, incorporating lessons learned into feedback team can improve on product
