About The Position

The Assembly / Material Handler is responsible for assembling valve components, moving materials throughout the manufacturing facility, and supporting efficient production operations. This position requires attention to detail, safe material-handling practices, and the ability to follow work instructions, drawings, and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and lift materials.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials within the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent coordination skills.
  • Great organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Attendance at work and punctuality is an essential function of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble valves, components, and related products according to work instructions, drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Inspect components for visible defects, proper fit, and correct identification before and during assembly.
  • Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment as required.
  • Move raw materials, components, finished products, and packaging materials between receiving, production, inventory, and shipping areas.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate material-handling equipment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, or other equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Maintain accurate material identification and inventory locations.
  • Prepare materials and components for production orders.
  • Package and label finished products according to customer and company requirements.
  • Complete production records, material transactions, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork or electronic records.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including proper lifting and material-handling practices.
  • Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect components and notify the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform other manufacturing and material-handling duties as assigned.
  • Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.
  • Operates with a sense of teamwork.
  • Must be able to work in fast paced team environment.
  • Safety and quality are critical responsibilities of this position. Employees are expected to follow established procedures, use required PPE, properly operate equipment, and immediately report unsafe conditions or quality concerns. All work must be performed in accordance with applicable company procedures and customer specifications.
