About The Position

The Value Stream Lean Improvement Champion (VSIC) will lead and execute process improvement initiatives across the value stream, leveraging technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, chemical, and human factors. This role partners with Value Stream Managers, Maintenance, and Technical teams to build and execute a value stream roadmap focused on improving uptime, rate, and yield. The VSIC will identify, scope, and deliver plant-wide improvement projects, including resource planning and execution. Responsibilities include leading Kaizen events end-to-end (team selection, agenda development, training facilitation, implementation, and follow-up), aligning A3, Kaizen, and Hoshin initiatives with plant and value stream KPIs, and driving root cause problem-solving to eliminate systemic issues across the plant. The role involves analyzing and interpreting plant data from systems like SAP, historian systems, and Minitab to identify improvement opportunities, and implementing and coaching teams on continuous improvement tools such as 5S, TPM, AM/PM, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, and Standard Work. The VSIC will also facilitate cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, and support teams, and direct and influence Kaizen teams, production employees, and support staff to achieve results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or plant operations
  • Experience in continuous improvement and process optimization
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and meeting management experience
  • Experience with Lean tools and methodologies
  • Knowledge of: Production systems, Raw material flow, Work order and maintenance processes, Project and downtime planning
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as: Minitab, SAP, Data historians / Access / similar systems
  • Strong communication, presentation, and data organization skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in continuous manufacturing environments
  • Hands-on experience with: DMAIC, PDCA, 8-Step Problem Solving
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Proven success leading Kaizen events and plant-wide improvements
  • Strong understanding of plant systems and cross-functional integration

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $105,000 to $135,000 per year. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors
