Currently we have a Value Stream Buyer/Scheduler role open. The Value Stream Buyer/Schedulers provide purchased material to the production team on time and in the correct quantities to achieve shop schedules and production takt times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED
  • Two years’ experience in purchasing and or scheduling in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Two year college degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with selected suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time, and in the correct quantities.
  • Provide suppliers with production forecast
  • Generate purchase orders to procure materials and monitor purchasing orders menus in the Enterprise Resource Planning operating system to ensure accuracy
  • Assist in implementation of pull systems with selected suppliers.
  • Monitor purchased material queue areas frequently to ensure material is available to production teams in the correct quantities
  • Participate and drive continuous improvements within the Value Stream
  • Work with the shop floor team members, management, and the Value Stream platform in identifying opportunities for MDI – Managing for Daily Improvement
  • Participate in cross-functional Value Stream team training and development
  • Clearly identify and communicate any non-standard issue to the appropriate personnel
  • Employ the use of Lean Manufacturing principles through participation during kaizen events and daily work activities
  • Perform the buying/scheduling function for the Value Stream team per standard work
  • Maintain, populate, and launch new kits through the auto PO system
  • Expedite parts/and or orders as needed by the production supervisor or Team leaders
