About The Position

Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience
  • Strong knowledge and application of MS toolset (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Certification with PMP or APM or PRINCE 2
  • Prior experience with New Product Development (NPI) process
  • Skilled in oracle ERP system
  • Experience with proficy route management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment.
  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of processes to support schedule, costs, resource, risk & opportunity and change management for projects including and not limited to NPI, reprocessing of parts, machine to machine moves, etc……
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
  • Serves as best practice/quality resource.
  • Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
  • Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
