About The Position

Responsible for running all value add orders to safety, quality, and production standards. Team members will cross-train and learn all positions within Value Add. This role involves various responsibilities including grading, forklift operation, banding, and laminate setup, all while adhering to safety and quality protocols.

Requirements

  • Ability to run all value add orders to safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Cross-train and learn all positions within Value Add.
  • Knowledgeable of customer specifications and grading criteria of UV applications and panels.
  • Ability to change sander belts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose minor problems with sanders, feeder, and stacker equipment.
  • Ability to make mechanical adjustments to sanders as required for proper finished sand.
  • Adherence to current 5S standards.
  • Ability to complete pre-shift forklift inspection.
  • Ability to follow the schedule for the shift.
  • Ability to stage wood for upcoming orders.
  • Ability to keep wood on the infeed conveyor to optimize production.
  • Ability to cross-train with all other positions within the department.
  • Ability to print tickets for each unit.
  • Ability to verify ticket against MUT.
  • Ability to verify face and back for each bundle according to MUT.
  • Ability to change over coater #4 and flush out for solids.
  • Ability to change drums of coatings.
  • Ability to cut color retains for color runs.
  • Ability to assist with clean up after stain runs.
  • Ability to use correct cardboard covers for customer orders.
  • Ability to place tickets on unit.
  • Ability to check thickness of panels for each unit.
  • Ability to maintain inventory accuracy through ERP transactions.
  • Ability to monitor quality by completing proper quality checks.
  • Able to change paper rolls.
  • Able to make proper adjustments.
  • Completion of operator preventive maintenance.
  • Adherence to 5S standards for the area.
  • Ability to follow standardized work.
  • Ability to report any problems arising in safety, quality, or production to the Team Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up the line based on product description.
  • Responsible for the overall flow of product on the line.
  • Knowledgeable of customer specifications and grading criteria of UV applications and panels.
  • Ensuring the correct disposition of material based on grading criteria.
  • Completing operator PMs and assisting in maintaining the equipment.
  • Changing sander belts.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing minor problems with sanders, feeder, and stacker equipment.
  • Making mechanical adjustments to sanders as required for proper finished sand.
  • Adhering to and driving improvement to current 5S standards for that area.
  • Completing pre-shift forklift inspection prior to operating forklift.
  • Following the schedule for the shift, keeping the UV Technician and/or Stain Technician informed when there is a product change and line need to be set up with correct wood.
  • Staging wood for upcoming orders.
  • Keeping wood on the infeed conveyor to optimize production of the UV line.
  • Cross-training with all other positions within the department.
  • Printing tickets for each unit.
  • Verifying ticket against MUT.
  • Verifying face and back for each bundle according to MUT.
  • Changing over coater #4 and flushing out for solids.
  • Changing drums of coatings.
  • Cutting color retains for color runs.
  • Assisting with clean up after stain runs; wiping buckets at waste station.
  • Using correct cardboard covers for customer orders.
  • Placing tickets on unit.
