BW Design Group offers summer internships and 6-month co-ops. Applicants should apply once and will be considered for the option that best aligns with their academic schedule. Internships span 10-12 weeks over the summer. Co-Ops are 6-months long and start in January 2027 or June 2027. At Design Group, you’ll collaborate with experienced leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to solve complex challenges for some of the world’s leading companies. You’ll join a growing team of more than 1,500 professionals across 45 U.S. offices, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop your technical expertise, and contribute to meaningful client projects.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Available for either a summer internship or a six-month co-op assignment.
  • Interest in validation, quality, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, automation, utilities, facilities, or other regulated environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to prepare clear written documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel based on project requirements, including installation and start-up activities, client meetings, company meetings, and training.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, co-op, academic, or project experience involving automation, packaging equipment, utilities, facilities, or validation.
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical or medical device environments.
  • Familiarity with FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, quality systems, FDA requirements, or technical report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of validation and FDA compliance documents and protocols for pharmaceutical equipment and automated systems.
  • Assist with manufacturing process design, facility development, and project execution activities.
  • Prepare and execute FAT, SAT, IQ, and OQ documentation for equipment and automated systems.
  • Support the development and execution of quality management system procedures and compliance documentation.
  • Apply relevant requirements from 21 CFR Parts 211 and 820 and ICH Q1, Q8, Q9, and Q10 to project deliverables.
  • Participate in investigations and troubleshooting related to validation and compliance issues.
  • Prepare clear validation reports documenting testing, results, deviations, and conclusions.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, engineers, and project teams to support validation planning and execution.
  • Assist with installation, start-up, commissioning, and site-based validation activities.
  • Build technical knowledge of life sciences validation, quality systems, documentation practices, and regulatory compliance.

Benefits

  • The approximate pay range for this position is $23–$30 per hour.
