About The Position

BW Design Group offers summer internships and 6-month co-ops. Applicants should apply once and will be considered for the option that best aligns with their academic schedule. Internships span 10-12 weeks over the summer. Co-Ops are 6-months long and start in January 2027 or June 2027. Opportunities may be available in the following areas: Construction, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering. Locations: Atlanta, GA; Concord, NH; Fort Worth, TX; and St. Louis, MO. At Design Group, you’ll collaborate with experienced architects, engineers, project managers, construction professionals, and technical specialists to solve complex challenges for some of the world’s leading companies. You’ll join a growing team of more than 1,500 professionals across 45 U.S. offices, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop your technical expertise, and contribute to meaningful client projects.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Available for either a summer internship or a six-month co-op assignment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and an interest in learning relevant design, modeling, or project management software.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, client locations, company meetings, or training as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, co-op, academic, or project experience related to architecture, engineering, construction, design, or project delivery.
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, BIM, or other relevant industry software.
  • Interest in industrial, manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other technically complex facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of drawings, layouts, specifications, calculations, models, and other project deliverables.
  • Support architectural, structural, electrical, or construction-related project activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, designers, project managers, construction professionals, clients, and vendors.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, coordination discussions, and site visits.
  • Help research and evaluate equipment, materials, codes, standards, and technical requirements.
  • Support project documentation, scheduling, estimating, procurement, and construction administration activities.
  • Assist with field observations, equipment installation, start-up, commissioning, and project closeout, as applicable.
  • Use industry software and tools to support design, documentation, modeling, and project coordination.
  • Develop an understanding of multidisciplinary project delivery within industrial and manufacturing environments.

Benefits

  • The approximate pay range for this position is $23–$30 per hour.
