About The Position

We are seeking a Validation Engineer - Product Definition to support the development of aerospace structures, engine controls, gas turbine components, and Model-Based Definition (MBD) initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with Mechanical Design Engineers to create and validate 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings, and digital product definitions that meet engineering, manufacturing, and customer requirements. You will develop detailed component models and drawings, perform tolerance analyses, and ensure compliance with ASME standards while supporting digital transformation initiatives across aerospace programs. Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be US Citizen. This position is 100% onsite in Marietta, GA.

Requirements

  • 7-8 years of Product Definition, CAD Design, or Mechanical Drafting experience
  • Proficiency using Catia V5 preferred or 3DExperience or Siemens NX to model parts, create assemblies, and perform clash analysis.
  • Proficient understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience reading and interpreting 2D engineering drawings, parts lists, and bill of materials.
  • Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing design process specifications.
  • Experience with different manufacturing and assembly methods such as machining, sheet metal forming, and welding.
  • Experience designing and developing tooling for part fabrication and assembly, including critical interchangeable and close tolerance mating features.
  • Experience scanning parts, scanning tools, and processing point cloud data.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.41 Model-Based Definition.
  • Experience with Digital Product Definition (DPD).
  • Strong understanding of: Engineering drawing interpretation, Mechanical assemblies, Tolerance stack-ups
  • Experience creating: 3D models, 2D drawings, Assembly layouts
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and machining processes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
  • Due to the nature of these roles, applicants must be US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or related STEM discipline.
  • Experience with NC programming preferred but not required.
  • Experience in adoption and/or integration of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, digital assistants) into day-to-day operations for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 3D CAD models using Siemens NX.
  • Create detailed 2D engineering drawings and Model-Based Definitions (MBD).
  • Produce solid models for piece parts, housings, assemblies, and engine components.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in Teamcenter.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up and geometric studies to ensure manufacturability.
  • Interpret engineering requirements and design intent.
  • Review engineering drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Participate in design reviews as the Product Definition representative.
  • Support engineering changes, configuration management, and documentation updates.
  • Revise existing engineering drawings to resolve discrepancies and implement design changes.
  • Validate supplier-created CAD models against engineering requirements.
  • Resolve technical inquiries involving: Drawing interpretation, 3D modeling practices, Assembly interference/clash analysis
  • Support manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams during product development.
  • Ensure all design data is properly documented, controlled, and export compliant.
