About The Position

The North Liberty Hospital Department of Guest Services is seeking a part-time Patient Escort-Valet Parking. In accordance with Service Excellence and departmental guidelines, the primary duties of this position include safely driving valet parked vehicles, performing valet parking duties as assigned, greeting patients and guests upon arrival to the hospital, and transporting and assisting ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients and guests to and from clinics, inpatient units, and procedure areas via wheelchair, patient bed, patient stretcher, or walking them to their destination. The role also involves delivering wheelchairs to assigned areas, problem-solving when service recovery is needed, assisting patients and guests with questions and wayfinding needs. On occasion, duties may include driving a motorized transportation cart, performing guest services dispatch duties, delivering moveable medical equipment throughout the hospital, cleaning and storing equipment, driving a late evening shuttle, and performing other assigned duties. This position has a blood-borne pathogen exposure risk. The successful candidate must be able to regularly move heavy weight of 100 lbs, and occasionally in excess of 250 lbs via wheelchair or bed. They must also be able to remain in a stationary position and move for extended periods of time, work in inclement weather, and move for long periods of time. Compliance with UI Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards is required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions
