About The Position

This role is responsible for mixing and administering vaccines to ensure the health of each bird. The Vaccination Crew member will perform both water and spray vaccinations, ensuring proper procedures are followed. This position also involves cleaning and maintaining equipment, loading/unloading supplies, and driving company vehicles to various farms. The role requires the ability to work with minimum supervision, demonstrate teamwork, and understand company operating systems. The job involves various physical activities and requires working in different environmental conditions.

Requirements

Participates as a member of the Team.
Enters and locates information on a computer.
Visually verifies information, often in small print.
Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail.
Must be able to work in various temperatures.
Move about in a broiler/breeder house environment and surrounding property.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, temperature extremes, and dark environments as needed.
Must also be able to work on feet for the entire shift as necessary.
Some climbing stairs/ladders.
Will travel via car to various work locations.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Nice To Haves

Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.
Military experience is valued.

Responsibilities

Performs water vaccination by mixing vaccines and adding them to the water supply according to procedure.
Ensures birds drink vaccinated water by following company procedures.
Performs spray vaccination by mixing vaccines, filling the distribution pack, and spraying birds in the chicken house.
Cleans and maintains vaccine equipment.
Loads and unloads vaccine equipment and supplies into/out of a truck.
Demonstrates the ability to learn and understand proper water vaccinating procedures.
Drives company vehicles to all company farms.
Works with the vaccination crew when needed.
Demonstrates the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to identify areas lacking cohesiveness and works with the team leader and team to resolve issues.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity and support these systems.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
