About The Position

This role is responsible for administering vaccines to birds through water or spray methods, ensuring the health of each bird. The position involves mixing vaccines according to procedures, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean work environment. The Vaccination Crew GL also drives company vehicles to various farms and collaborates with the vaccination crew. A key aspect of this role is demonstrating the ability to work with minimum supervision and participate effectively as a team member, adhering to Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives. The position requires performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

Demonstrates the ability to learn and understand proper water vaccinating procedures.
Must be able to work in various temperatures.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, temperature extremes, and dark environments as needed.
Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift as necessary.
Some climbing stairs/ladders.
Will travel via car to various work locations.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Nice To Haves

Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.
Military experience is valued.

Responsibilities

Performs water vaccination by mixing vaccines and ensuring birds drink vaccinated water.
Performs spray vaccination by mixing vaccines, filling the distribution pack, and spraying birds.
Cleans and maintains vaccine equipment.
Loads and unloads vaccine equipment and supplies.
Drives company vehicles to all company farms.
Works with the vaccination crew when needed.
Demonstrates the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Participates as a member of the Team, fostering cohesiveness and resolving issues.
Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems and understands the role in supporting them.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
