About The Position

LJ Inc. is hiring an experienced Vac Truck Operator for its Underbore Department. The role involves operating vacuum trucks, hydraulic jetter systems, and hydrovac equipment to clean underground assets and perform non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground utilities. The operator will inspect and maintain equipment, transport it to project locations, work safely in confined or hazardous environments, coordinate with crew members, and complete operational documentation. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience operating and is willing to assist the department as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience operating.
• Ability to push and pull objects and carry or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Safety-oriented.
• Valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Operate vacuum trucks and hydraulic jetter systems to clean underground assets, including pipes, vaults, and tanks, in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, monitor equipment performance, and perform minor field maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Transport vacuum equipment to and from project locations, including towing off-road or easement-access tools when required.
• Access and clean underground structures using fall protection systems, gas detection monitors, and ventilation gear while following safety protocols in confined or hazardous environments.
• Coordinate field activities with crew members, maintain job-site safety, and complete tasks efficiently in line with project goals.
• Complete time sheets, equipment logs, and cleaning reports accurately and within established timelines.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace, including company equipment and vehicles.
• Manage hydrovac trucks and equipment to perform non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground utilities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
