APS is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Field Technician II (Vactor Operator) to join our growing operations team. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to operate tablets or mobile devices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Must be comfortable working outside year-round in all types of weather.
  • Exposure to varying levels of physical activities. Standing, crouching, walking, crawling. Capable of heavy lifting up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Friendly and professional attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years of sewer, storm drainage, underground utility, or related field experience.
  • Experience operating Vactor trucks, vacuum trucks, or high-pressure jetting equipment.
  • CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience reading utility maps and construction plans.
  • Experience leading field crews or training employees.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Vactor trucks, vacuum equipment, and high-pressure jetting systems.
  • Lead field crews and provide hands-on training to technicians and helpers.
  • Coordinate daily job activities with customers and supervisors.
  • Read and interpret sewer, storm drainage, and utility plans.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and daily inspections on equipment.
  • Complete electronic daily logs, inspections, fuel reports, and production reports using company-issued tablets.
  • Inspect, clean, organize, and maintain hoses, nozzles, tools, and equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and operate within safe pressure limits.
  • Identify field challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
  • Follow all company driving policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures.
