Vac Truck Operator
About The Position
FiberTel, LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of Quanta Services, Inc., is a utility construction company specializing in the installation of fiber optics across the Northwest and Western regions, including Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and California. The company provides a full turnkey experience for its clients, supporting the increased demand for internet services due to remote work and online schooling. FiberTel is seeking a Vac Truck Operator for its Springville, UT location. This role involves the safe transportation of the vac truck to and from sites, operating the machine skillfully and safely, and assisting the team as needed to successfully complete jobs. The operator will also perform any additional duties as directed by the foreman. This is a pipeline position within a crew and includes travel opportunities. Higher wages are offered for CDL A holders.
Requirements
- Possess a valid CDL class A
- Experience operating a vac truck
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years)
- Strong focus on quality and safety
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to pass all company drug testing
- Submit to a background check
- Adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company as required
Responsibilities
- Operate all heavy machinery in a safe manner
- Drive vehicle in safe manner following all rules of the road
- Follow all on-site safety procedures
- Ensure contents & equipment are properly secured during transportation
- Comply with all DOT regulations and rules
- Perform daily vehicle pre-trip inspections and JHA
- Help the team as needed in all capacities to successfully complete the job
- Perform any additional duties as directed by the foreman
