About The Position

The Vac Truck Operator is responsible for operating vacuum trucks and related equipment to perform industrial cleaning, hydro excavation, waste removal, and environmental services at customer sites. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, proper equipment handling, and strong communication skills. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement preferred.
  • Previous experience operating vacuum trucks, hydro vacs, or industrial equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must pass drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty requirements.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License - Class A
  • Pass and maintain DOT Medical Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Hydro excavation experience.
  • Industrial cleaning or environmental services background.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Confined space or HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vacuum trucks, hydro excavation units, and related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform industrial cleaning, liquid waste removal, hydro excavation, and environmental services.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
  • Load, transport, and unload non-hazardous or hazardous materials in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain hoses, pumps, valves, and other equipment in good working condition.
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and customers on job site requirements.
  • Set up work zones, safety barriers, and traffic control measures when required.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of trucks and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency spill cleanup or environmental service calls as needed.
  • Complete daily logs, manifests, timesheets, and inspection reports accurately.
