Carnegie Mellon University's Software and Societal Systems (S3D) department within the School of Computer Science is seeking a UX/UI Researcher for a new interdisciplinary project focused on the development and evaluation of Privacy Technology for Smart Cities. This role is ideal for someone with a recent master's degree in HCI or a related field. The project involves extending existing Internet of Things Privacy Infrastructure, developed by Prof. Norman Sadeh, and piloting it in collaboration with the City of Long Beach. The work will include deployment, design, and piloting of new functionality, including Generative AI features, with actual end-users in Long Beach, California. The researcher will work closely with the principal investigator under limited supervision and have opportunities to contribute to research publications.
