About The Position

As a UX Researcher, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping product experiences by uncovering insights that drive design and business decisions. We are looking for a Researcher who is passionate about understanding users and translating insights into impactful experiences. You will bring a mix of technical expertise, design knowledge, and strong communication skills to the team. This is a Hybrid position located in either Waterloo or Toronto, Canada. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 1 to 6 times a month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to one of the two locations and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of proven experience in UX research within software or digital product environments.
  • Proficiency in inferential statistics and ability to structure controlled experiments.
  • Experience with tools like Excel, R, or Python for running basic analyses.
  • Experience analyzing user journeys and conversion funnels to identify friction points and optimize engagement.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and design heuristics.
  • Experience conducting top-down qualitative analyses aligned with research objectives.
  • Familiarity with triangulating findings using multiple data sources
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Skilled at fostering alignment within your team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with interaction designers, content strategists, product managers, marketers
  • Plan and conduct lightweight prototype testing to evaluate design assumptions and reduce risk prior to development.
  • Apply statistical methods to interpret research findings and ensure reliability and significance.
  • Support customer experience measurement programs, including survey execution, data quality monitoring, and longitudinal reporting
  • Work with researchers, analysts, and data scientists to triangulate findings across data sources
  • Design and execute light qualitative studies (e.g., interviews, usability tests) to complement quantitative findings.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that influence product design.
