About The Position

We are looking for a UX Researcher III to support research activities involving advanced hardware and software prototypes. This role will focus on planning and moderating research sessions, preparing and testing prototypes, collecting research data, summarizing insights, and conducting preliminary analysis in collaboration with experienced researchers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience conducting qualitative research with human participants and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced research environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Sociology, Communications, Information Science, Media Studies, Economics, or a related research field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a research environment involving human subjects.
  • Hands-on experience with qualitative research methods and study moderation.
  • Knowledge of qualitative research best practices and basic quantitative data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions while balancing competing demands.
  • Ability to work onsite for data collection activities in Seattle or Redmond, WA.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience conducting research using hardware prototypes.
  • Experience supporting prototype-based studies, including setup, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with emerging or advanced technology in a research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers to plan studies, procedures, and research protocols.
  • Set up and test hardware and software prototypes for research sessions.
  • Pilot research sessions and develop study protocol materials.
  • Independently moderate research sessions while managing time and making real-time decisions.
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data during research activities.
  • Summarize research findings and perform preliminary data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot prototypes and research setups as needed.
  • Work independently while balancing multiple research priorities and deadlines.
