About The Position

Target's Global UX team is seeking a UX Product Designer to join their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team. This role will focus on shaping intuitive and efficient tools that support the product lifecycle from concept to shelf. The designer will collaborate with Lead UX Designers and the Senior Manager, applying human-centered design practices throughout the process, from understanding user needs to crafting and testing solutions. This is a hands-on role for a designer focused on execution and evaluation, using strong UX methods to translate user insights into elegant, usable experiences and ensuring the tools solve the right problems. The position also involves contributing to the broader practice of UX at Target through influence, impact, and craft, and educating cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant product design work or equivalent
  • Foundational skills in UX and product design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
  • Demonstrate problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills
  • Lean into problems and seek to understand the ‘why’ behind human behavior and their mindsets
  • Knowledge of effectively using data and insights to inform design decisions and communicate your approach
  • Proficiency in product design and prototyping tools (i.e., Figma)
  • Value outcomes and strive toward design that is welcoming, inspiring, and clear
  • Understand how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes
  • Exhibit a growth mindset

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full design process, from early discovery and strategic approach to ideation, design, testing asset delivery and production with engineers
  • Take direction from and collaborate with senior designers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional working teams to deliver impactful business outcomes
  • Leverage insights, data and research to identify and pursue user-centric outcomes within your product space
  • Create design deliverables representative of the design process phase – such as journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI design and prototypes
  • Investigate using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Hold design work to a high standard of craft, including accessibility, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design
  • Advance a culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams
  • Navigate complexity and ambiguity delivering impact for guests and the business
