Lead user-centered design for web and mobile applications serving health and public-sector clients, translating research and product goals into intuitive, accessible interfaces. Plan and conduct user research and usability testing (remote and in-person) to gather insights, synthesize findings, and iterate on designs. Create wireframes, high-fidelity visual designs, interactive prototypes, and detailed interaction specifications using tools such as Figma or Adobe XD. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, content strategists, and stakeholders to define requirements, align on priorities, and ensure designs are implemented as intended. Contribute to and maintain component libraries and design systems to promote consistency, scalability, and efficient delivery across projects. Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design (WCAG) throughout the design process and validate accessibility during testing and handoff. Use analytics and qualitative feedback to measure the success of design solutions and drive continuous improvement. Communicate design rationale and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, and mentor junior designers as needed.
