About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a dynamic UX Designer to join their Digital Employee Experience (DEX) team. The mission of the DEX team is to design meaningful, engaging, and accessible human-centered workplace experiences for their global workforce. As 'Customer Zero,' the UX Designer will solve internal business challenges by designing solutions directly on the Salesforce platform, demonstrating the power of 'Salesforce on Salesforce.' The DEX team operates in small, focused groups, tackling specific problems, building rapidly, and showing results weekly. They value systems thinking, thoughtful storytelling, collaboration, and a strong drive to ship. Success in this role requires a passion for craft, curiosity, and an eagerness to embrace new AI-driven ways of working. The DEX team is fundamentally shifting its operating model to 'Everyone is a Builder,' blurring the lines between roles, with designers building, experimenting with AI, and shipping daily. The role involves immersing oneself in the end-to-end experience, transforming insights into clear workflows, and moving away from static mocks towards demo-driven development where 'a working demo beats a slide.' This is an opportunity to use UX skills to inspire teams, rapidly create amazing experiences, and set the standard for how AI changes work.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design, with the ability to apply and adapt design system components into high-fidelity shippable solutions.
  • A strong "Builder" mentality with a bias toward action, resilience in a time of constant change, and a willingness to let go of traditional solutions and processes to experiment with new methods.
  • Experience or strong willingness to use AI coding tools daily to build, automate, and experiment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to pitch design rationale, give and receive actionable feedback in critiques, and navigate conflicting priorities diplomatically.
  • Capability to integrate accessibility and localization considerations beyond basic compliance.
  • Expert knowledge of current design tools, along with an ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • 3+ years of UX Design experience and a related technical degree is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Falling into the archetype of a "Strong Generalist" (highly skilled across multiple disciplines) or a "Deep Specialist" (top-tier expert in a specific niche like visual design or technical implementation).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in small, cross-functional squads (3-5 members) to own problem definitions, co-define solutions, and deliver outcomes within rapid 4-week cycles.
  • Build prototypes to plan rather than plans to build POCs, ensuring every piece of work produces a demo artifact linked directly to a Linear issue.
  • Move beyond static mocks to directly solution with users, stakeholders, engineers, and product managers using AI tools to help implement and polish front-end details.
  • Replace traditional ceremonies with async communication, leveraging Slack, short video updates, and public channels to share progress.
  • Distill complex problems to their core, evaluate design tradeoffs, and anchor the quality of designs in real data and live user feedback.
  • Serve as a collaborative bridge linking design, product, and engineering, while preparing materials to support research activities and producing clear accessibility and localization documentation.
