UX Architect

SecurityScorecardNew York, NY
$250,000 - $290,000

About The Position

SecurityScorecard is seeking a Senior UX Architect to lead information architecture and structural UX across its entire product surface, encompassing both new platform builds and legacy areas. This senior, horizontal role operates below the leadership tier and significantly influences the product's structure and the design organization's thinking. The position aims to scale structural UX expertise across all product swimlanes, shifting the team's focus from an aesthetic-first to an architecture-first design approach, where strong aesthetics are a result of sound structure. This role will also serve as the structural foundation for the company's AI product development, ensuring intelligent product experiences are built on a clean, scalable UX layer rather than inheriting structural debt. The ideal candidate will be responsible for determining whether a product feels effortless or exhausting and will set and maintain the structural bar across the entire platform.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on and/or managerial UX experience with deep, demonstrated expertise in information architecture and structural/systems-level SaaS design.
  • A track record of owning IA across complex, multi-surface products, including untangling fractured or legacy structures.
  • The ability to set standards and influence horizontally across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Experience establishing design processes, review practices, and reusable patterns/component foundations at scale.
  • Fluency partnering with Product and Engineering on AI or platform-level initiatives, with an eye for building UX foundations that scale.
  • The judgment to know when aesthetics are doing real structural work and when they're papering over a weak foundation.
  • Leader mentality: An excellent communicator, patient observer, and a keen feedback-giver.
  • A growth mindset: seeking out and incorporating feedback, and creating conditions for others to do the same.
  • Commitment to elevating the whole team; a force-multiplier role.
  • Humility in leadership: deeply experienced, secure, and able to coach, listen, and influence rather than dictate.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering experience (JSON, CSS, C++) / Python-ML background.

Responsibilities

  • Own information architecture across all surfaces, maintaining coherence across new and legacy platform areas.
  • Audit existing structures, identify fracture points, and resolve them with a long-term foundation in mind.
  • Set and carry cross-swimlane UX standards, operating horizontally across product design swimlanes to ensure consistent application of structural UX thinking.
  • Act as the quality checkpoint for prototypes, reviewing them for structural integrity before progression.
  • Champion a blueprint-first design motion, ensuring all outputs meet UX, IA, and best-practice standards.
  • Coach and model strong structural thinking to elevate the design practice and the team's ability to build things correctly from the start.
  • Partner closely with the AI product team to ensure the UX layer is structured, scalable, and ready to support intelligent product experiences.
  • Maintain platform integrity across the current platform and future builds, progressively bringing legacy areas up to standard.
  • Spread UX architecture thinking throughout the design organization to build a team that constructs correctly from the start.
