About The Position

The UX Accessibility Consultant will apply knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA requirements, assistive technologies, and Target accessibility standards to help create accessible digital experiences. This role involves partnering with Product, Design, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, providing accessibility guidance during discovery, design, development, and testing. The consultant will review concepts, user flows, designs, and implemented experiences to identify accessibility barriers and recommend solutions. Responsibilities include conducting accessibility evaluations using manual testing techniques, assistive technologies, and accessibility testing tools, documenting findings, and supporting teams in resolving issues before experiences go live. The position will independently support assigned product areas while continuing to grow accessibility expertise through collaboration with Senior and Lead Accessibility Consultants. The work will help advance accessibility across Target's digital ecosystem and drive inclusive experiences for all Target customers and employees. Requirements

  • Professional experience in digital accessibility, including foundational knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA requirements and their application to digital experiences.
  • Demonstrate innovative and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working across broad cross-functional teams and driving results through collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive work forward, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of initiative, organization, and versatility with the ability to manage ambiguity, risk, uncertainty, and changing priorities.
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating digital experiences for accessibility, identifying barriers, documenting findings, and communicating recommendations to product, design, and engineering partners.
  • Experience using assistive technologies to evaluate digital experiences, including screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation.
  • Understanding of how accessibility integrates throughout the software development lifecycle, including experience working within Agile delivery practices and cross-functional product teams.
