About The Position

This position supports the Navy’s Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) systems and their variants by providing maintenance, operation, and test support. The role involves performing routine and advanced corrective maintenance for research, development, testing, and evaluation (RDT&E) engineering changes. Key responsibilities include assisting with mission planning and post-mission analysis, conducting in-water tests of systems and support equipment, and guiding Navy members on the use of these systems following engineering and software updates.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience performing routine and advanced corrective maintenance on UUVs or Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and their associated support equipment
  • 3+ years of experience installing and testing engineering changes on UUVs or USVs and their associated support equipment
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and correcting mechanical, electrical, and software problems on UUVs or USVs
  • 3+ years of experience planning and executing UUVs or USVs mission plans, including performing post-mission analysis (PMA)
  • Knowledge of Navy maintenance practices and Navy Technical Manuals
  • Ability to operate UUVs or USVs while being at sea or on the water
  • Ability to read and redline Naval and commercial engineering drawings
  • Ability to interface with stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Navy Fleet activities to coordinate and safely test and operate UUVs and USVs
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
