About The Position

This role is responsible for placing safety as the #1 priority in day-to-day work routines for oneself and others. The position involves working under general supervision, performing tasks such as digging ditches, backfilling, moving materials and equipment by hand, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting in the installation and dismantling of equipment. The individual will frequently act as a helper to Service Mechanics or Meter Repair Mechanics and must understand the purpose of and be able to use standard tools like wrenches, stock and dies. The role requires the ability to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver's license. Additionally, the position may involve performing various routine operating duties from time to time. All employees must take measures to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access. Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline construction.
  • Minimum of three (3) months training (for Utility B).
  • Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months training (for Utility A).
  • Must be able to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver’s license.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work such as running a compactor and jackhammer.
  • Must reside within a twenty (20) mile radius from district office (6313 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, WA 98312) no later than 90 days from your start date in this role.
