About The Position

The Utility position maintains consumable inventories, supports 5S housekeeping efforts, and prepares make-ready materials as needed. The role takes direction from the VP of Manufacturing and supports pressroom operations by keeping materials, rollers, cylinders, and bearings ready and available. It also helps maintain safe, clean, and orderly work and storage areas, supports press crews with consumables, and participates in Pregis’ apprenticeship program and continuous-improvement efforts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Good mathematical skills.
Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others.
Ability to promote a positive teamwork culture.
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with the team and during shift transitions.
Knowledge of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous-improvement culture.

Responsibilities

Prepare make-ready materials, such as mounting plates and glue pads, and gather them at the press before make-ready begins.
Maintain press roller and cylinder inventory, keeping new rollers ready behind assigned presses.
Ensure used rollers are reworked in a timely manner.
Maintain bearing inventories for rollers used in the pressroom.
Maintain plant cleanliness through assigned cleaning projects.
Keep solvent, glue, and oil areas safe and orderly.
Safely contain waste and oil products and package waste properly for pickup.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse space for inventorying new and used consumables.
Change glue totes when required.
Help press crews obtain consumables as needed.
Participate in the Pregis apprenticeship program to support continuous improvement of self and the company.
Comply with safety and work rules and regulations and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
