About The Position

The Utility position supports manufacturing operations by maintaining consumable inventories, preparing make-ready materials, and contributing to housekeeping and cleanliness efforts. The role takes direction from the VP of Manufacturing and works with press crews to ensure supplies are ready and available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Good mathematical skills.
Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others.
Ability to promote a positive teamwork culture.
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with the team and during shift transitions.
Knowledge of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities

Prepare required make-ready materials, including mounting plates and glue pads, and gather materials at the press before make-ready begins.
Maintain the inventory of press rollers and cylinders, keeping new rollers ready behind assigned presses.
Ensure used rollers are reworked in a timely manner.
Maintain bearing inventories for rollers used in the pressroom.
Maintain plant cleanliness through assigned cleaning projects.
Keep solvent, glue, and oil areas safe and orderly.
Safely contain waste and oil products and package waste properly for pickup.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse space for inventorying new and used consumables.
Change glue totes when required.
Help press crews obtain consumables when required.
Participate actively in the Pregis apprenticeship program to support continuous improvement of the employee and company.
Comply with safety and work rules and regulations.
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
