Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Applicant must be able to perform the job duties and maintain current certifications for the job he/she is bidding
Work within the guidelines of the System Safety Program
Keep a clean and safe work area. Return company tools and materials
Work in and promote a teamwork environment in order to achieve a quality product
Adhere to Amtrak's Standard of Excellence Policy
Positions designated as "Hours of Service" require the applicant to produce a negative Federal pre-employment drug test prior to performing the job.
These jobs are subject to Federal random and reasonable suspicion testing.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Performs services on locomotives and equipment such as sanding, cleaning, washing and scraping, empties waste retention systems, trash receptacles and properly disposes of hazardous waste material in accordance with FDA/Amtrak standards and guidelines, performs shop maintenance and functions as motor equipment operator (see MEO positions)
Uses and operates light cranes, tractors, forklifts, and similar equipment
Maintain shop/yard cleanliness, maintains proper care and use of materials, equipment, machines and hand tools normally associated with assigned job
Other duties as assigned.
