About The Position

The Utility Worker plays a critical role in supporting production by ensuring materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods are moved efficiently throughout the manufacturing facility. This position maintains production line flow by replenishing materials, transporting products, assisting with changeovers, and supporting housekeeping and sanitation efforts while following all food safety and workplace safety standards.

Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience.
  • Prior sit-down forklift experience.
  • Strong organizational and material handling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and support multiple production lines.
  • Basic inventory and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist wherever needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supply production lines with packaging materials, cartons, pallets, and other required materials.
  • Transport finished products, work-in-process, and raw materials throughout the facility using forklifts, electric pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
  • Read production schedules and work orders to support production changeovers.
  • Change production code dates as required.
  • Wrap, label, stage, and prepare finished pallets for storage or shipment.
  • Remove completed pallets from production lines and replace with empty pallets.
  • Assist production operators with packing, assembling packers, folding boxes, and line support activities.
  • Set up and reposition portable conveyor sections during production changeovers.
  • Stage materials before production begins and remove excess materials after changeovers are completed.
  • Count, inventory, and document materials moved throughout the shift.
  • Maintain organized staging areas and properly stack pallets.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Assist with minor equipment adjustments when appropriate.
  • Perform housekeeping, sanitation, and cleaning duties throughout assigned production areas.
  • Remove waste materials, cardboard, and other production debris while maintaining GMP standards.
