About The Position

Under supervision of a Superintendent, Division Supervisor, or lead worker, installs, repairs and maintains utility (water or sewer) lines. Performs general laborer duties associated with the installation, repair and maintenance of sewer or water lines. Responds to customer complaints. Maintains proper safety equipment at work site. Investigates, isolates and repair leaks. Restores job site to original status by replacing surface. May cut weeds or shovel snow. May drive trucks to work sites. Performs other duties as assigned. Duties specific to Water: Check booster station to maintain appropriate water levels. Install, repair and pretest water meters. Make water taps. Locates, repairs and replace water valves. Install and repair fire hydrants. May collect chlorine and bacteria samples for processing.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) years of physical laborer experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Experience in assignment is preferred.
Commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred.
May be required to secure certification specific to area of assignment.
