About The Position

The Utility Technician operates various Class A, B, and/or C vehicles—including pumper, P&D, fence, and container trucks—to support operational needs. The position serves and delivers or picks up portable restrooms, holding tanks, septic tanks, sinks, showers, containers, and fencing at designated work sites. It may also lead fence-job crews, operate fence installation equipment, and transport material to local dumps.

Requirements

At least two years of commercial driving experience.
Valid driver license, CDL or non-commercial.
Excellent time-management, customer-service, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections and promptly report deficiencies to the shop.
Report improper vehicle operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to the Operations Manager.
Operate service trucks to and from designated work sites using daily routing information.
Service portable restrooms, holding tanks, septic tanks, sinks, and showers according to company servicing guidelines.
Notify management of issues encountered on an assigned backup route.
Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatch to receive instructions and work-location changes.
Maintain truck logs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Follow established safety rules and regulations.
Operate flatbed trucks to deliver or pick up portable restroom units, hand sinks, holding tanks, and containers at designated work sites.
Update tickets with relevant delivery or pickup details.
Operate fence trucks to deliver or pick up fencing and related materials at designated work sites.
Lead fence jobs when a crew is assigned to the job or truck, and operate fence installation equipment.
Operate tanker or transfer trucks to local dumps and complete required paperwork.
Perform special projects as assigned by management.
