About The Position

The Utility Technician I performs general labor activities to assist at the jobsite, supporting water, wastewater, and drainage facilities. The role includes facility maintenance and repairs, scheduled inspections, groundskeeping, inventory upkeep, and office cleaning. The technician must be willing to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on-call duty.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Ability to follow manuals and operating instructions.
Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures, and safety practices.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
Ability to work with required tools, including a jack hammer and demolishing saw.
Comfort working in and around water and raw sewage.
Communicate clearly and professionally, contribute to a positive customer experience, help others, and maintain composure in challenging situations.
Pay attention to detail, identify and solve problems, escalate issues appropriately, and check work for quality.
Work well with supervision, complete projects, follow company policies and SOPs, and manage multiple tasks.
Demonstrate a positive attitude, act in accordance with company vision, mission, and values, take accountability, and be willing to take on additional assignments.
Frequently lift 50–80 pounds; load, unload, and move large equipment and tools; access confined spaces; and continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
Successfully complete applicable background screening, drug testing, and driving record review.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain items at water, wastewater, and drainage facilities.
Conduct scheduled inspections.
Perform lawn and gardening maintenance and repair.
Shovel dirt and gravel.
Maintain inventory of parts and maintenance supplies.
Clean offices, including vacuuming, sweeping, trash pickup, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
Work all shifts, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and 24-hour emergency on-call duty.
Perform other duties as required.
